The East Coast Greenway

by Collin Falls January 8, 2018
The East Coast Greenway

The East Coast Greenway is a long-term project that will connect existing and planned shared-use trails to provide a continuous, traffic-free route through 450 communities from Calais, Maine to Key West, Florida.

Currently serving more than ten million users annually, the East Coast Greenway provides both locals and visitors with a fun, safe, and accessible infrastructure for everything from a local commute to a long adventure.

More than 940 miles of the Greenway are already on protected routes, with new segments of off-road paths being added every year. Uncompleted sections are connected by on-road routes.

Of the trails listed on our Trails pages for each New England state, the following are currently part of the East Coast Greenway. The mileage counts reflect the portion of each trail that is on the Greenway.
