Traveling Between New England and Canada

by Collin Falls January 6, 2018
Traveling Between New England and Canada

The New England region borders Canada in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. If your travel plans include traveling between New England and Canada, the following websites will provide helpful information.

  • Entry requirements into Canada (see also Visitor Visa Exemptions)
  • The Canadian Border Crossing Information Guide
  • Entry requirements into the United States
  • Know Before You Go
  • Department of Homeland Security

Border wait times by location are updated hourly on the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s website.

Other Trips from New England
Because Boston is the travel hub for most of New England, you’ll find some affordable options for additional “add on” trips if you’re spending one or more months in this area. If you’re visiting in the winter or spring, we recommend you consider flying to Florida for a long weekend or week to visit Disneyworld. There’s lots of activities there for families and you can often find discount airline fares from Portsmouth, NH or Boston, MA.
